Finding the right partner

Employment Links is an organization that for over 30 years has been focused on bridging the gap between employers and job seekers, specifically job seekers with barriers to employment.

Business administration activities had started to become a significant time and financial burden to the organization.  A little over 6 years ago Employment Links’ leadership made the decision to make the investment in systems that would help them document, schedule, track time and bill.  The group felt it was business imperative.

For a period of over 5 years they tried or evaluated many solutions:

A commercial product that Employment Links believed had the features but didn’t meet the requirement for billing.
Hired a new employee to build out and support a system built specifically to meet their community-based employment support programs.  Which didn’t have longevity due to the dependence on one resource.
Hired a software firm to design a product to streamline their processes and the project never was able to deliver a successful outcome.
After five years Employment Links still had multiple systems to manage their processes and the workflow required significant manual effort, including entering claims directly into MN-ITs.
