Establishing Team Unity – The Cashé Way

by | Dec 22, 2021 | Home Care

The key to success for any company, no matter what industry they may be in, is to have the right team in place. When everyone in the business feels united, gets along and is working towards the same goal, it will only help the company succeed.

However, for companies in the home care industry, establishing team unity can be a challenge. When home care providers are all out in the field and different locations instead of in one office, it can be so difficult for these team members to feel that sense of unity in the office. Many team members tend to feel isolated when in this position—meaning managers and owners need to find a way to establish and cultivate this sense of camaraderie in the workplace.

Communication is Key When it comes to building team unity, no matter what industry you are in—there is nothing as important as great communication. This is particularly challenging for home care agencies who rarely have their team members in one place.

Communication is key to ensure everyone on the team feels informed and in the loop with what is going on in the company. This can be accomplished through mobile software apps like Whatsapp, Teamwork, Trello, or Slack to keep everyone communicating and on the same page.

  1. Highlight Successful Employees

Boosting staff morale is a great way to help everyone stay more positive and to highlight successful team members. Highlight an employee of the month or have management highlight employees who go above and beyond to the entire staff.

You can also offer incentives for hard work, which will encourage individuals to work even harder. It will also boost team loyalty to your company.

  1. Get Feedback

Managers and owners should always ask their caregivers for feedback and information on how the company can improve. This is particularly important when making sure your employees are comfortable with working in our current COVID climate. Encourage caregivers to speak out about when they need support. It’s a great way for everyone to feel like their voice is being heard and that management cares about their happiness and wellbeing.

  1. Schedule Team-Building Activities

Since caregivers within one agency rarely see or interact with one another, you will want to schedule team-building activities so that team members can meet each other and interact with one another. This not only helps build team morale and company loyalty, but it will allow caregivers to meet and interact with other caregivers. This is a great way for members to share tips, stories, and insights about caregiving with one another.

Here at Cashé Software, we know how difficult it can be for home care agencies to build this type of team morale, particularly when their employees are rarely all in the same place. But better team unity means better operations, better morale in the company, higher productivity (I.E. producing more resources such as EVV), and better care for the patients. However, with a little extra attention to team-building and company morale, home care agencies can start building this type of team unity, and seeing the benefits of this effort first-hand.
